How will you determine, when a customer will enter a journey?

By setting Custom Entry Event, this means, the customer will get added to the journey when he performs a particular activity or event.

Watch this quick tutorial to see how to add a customer to a journey.

Let us take a look at the options and settings to add customers to the journey.

Click on the journey entry points button, and choose from the three options available, which are:

  • Option 1 'When customer performs event' - Here the customer will be added to the journey when he performs any event. Click on the drop-down to select the event after which the customer will enter the journey. For example, Purchased. This means the customer will enter the journey when he performs 'Purchase' event.

  • Option 2 'Customer Enters or exits Segment' - Add a customer to the journey when he enters or exits the segment. Click on the drop-down and select the segment to watch for, and specify the time of the day when the segment check will take place. For example, run the Journey when the customer exits the segment - ‘not purchase last 3 months’. Segment checks to be done at 12:00 PM every day. This option can also be used to trigger a journey for those customers who are already in a particular segment. For example, this journey will be triggered for a customer who is already in the ‘not purchase last 3 months’ segment, and the segment check will be done at 01:30 PM every day.

  • Option 3 'Repeat at a fixed time' - Determine how many times a journey will repeat for a particular customer.

    • Repeat Journey Daily. Trigger the journey every day, for given customers. Click on the drop-down to set a specific time. Click on ‘Add Day Slot, to run this journey at multiple times in a day.

    • Repeat Journey Weekly. Run the journey every week, for given customers, at a specific time. Set the required criteria by clicking on the drop-down. You can also click on ‘Add Week Day’, to run this journey on multiple days of the week. For example, remind customers about a Weekly Discount. Set the criteria to repeat this journey on every Friday of the week, at 06:30 PM, for given customers.

    • Repeat Journey Monthly, this means the journey will run every month, for given customers, at the time specified by you. Set the required criteria by clicking on the drop-downs. Click on ‘Add Month Date’, to run this journey on multiple dates in one month. For example, don’t let your customers miss out on the month-end bonanza, use this option to set the criteria to repeat this journey on the 25th of every month at 05:30 PM, for given customers.

Based on the criteria set, customers will enter the journey.

Click on ‘Save Changes’ to save your draft to move on to the next step in creating the journey.
